There are several sites available to faculty for professional development. In addition to these sites, other activites may also be counted toward faculty development hours. Software Training Provided by The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale Library

If you are looking to learn the latest software in your department, the library has numerous resources for you! We currently have contracts with several industry leaders to provide online training for current students and staff. Find tutorials for Adobe CS5 and Microsoft Office 7! A complete list of the software covered under these contracts is provided for your convenience. Please contact us for the usernames/passwords.

Our goal is to support your development through innovative online learning that can be accessed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The SkillPort eLearning library from SkillSoft offers various courses, simulations, test preparation exams, and job aids in over 3,000 individual subjects.

The library is organized into topics of:

Business Skills (i.e. Communication, Customer Service, Emotional Intelligence, Management, Coaching)
Desktop Skills (i.e. Microsoft Office Products, Crystal Reports, Adobe)
IT Professional Training (i.e. Network Technologies, Software Development, Web Design)
Legal Compliance (Sexual Harassment training for Managers)

With our new online learning program, you can look forward to accessing a diverse library of content. SkillPort is even Mac-compatible!

Lynda.com offers a variety of digital lifestyle & multimedia development topics.

Since we have a limited number of subscriptions to this service, you will be asked to follow a few guidelines:

First, try the Free titles that are available through Lynda.com; If you would then like to open account, please request a login.
If you do receive a Login ID, you must actively use this service to maintain an account. Therefore, if after 2 weeks of activation, you do not log-in to your account, the account will be made available to another employee. This will also happen after 90 days of inactivity.
If you decide this isn't the best option for you, you may email via the registration form below noting that you would like to voluntarily forfeit your account at this time.

You may always decide at a later time to request that your account be reactivated!
